March 2016

On Monday, March 28 at 7 pm we’ll be performing a madcap tale from St. Pete’s own Bill Leavengood. Spacehunters tells the story of Marty, a man desperate to find a place to live in NYC, and the wacky characters and situations he encounters in his search.

The madness continues with The Continuing Adventures of Noel Berlin, Cabaret Detective. Noel and his crew are still stuck in 1995 in a futile search for St. Pete’s baseball team, The Mullets. What other historical mysteries will they stumble into?

You can catch Noel Berlin in a special appearance across the bridge in Tampa at Creative Loafing’s GASP! Festival on Friday, April 1. Plus a special GASP! appearance by the real Noel Berlin’s real cabaret band, Paul Wilborn & Blue Roses – featuring torch singer Eugenie Bondurant, drummer Matt Cowley and Frank Bowman on horns.

The Radio Theatre Project honors Black History Month with the world premiere of the radio play, “Natchez Trace”. It’s the recounting by a former slave of his harrowing tale of him and another male slave, who escape a plantation fire and spend days on the run with their owners and dogs in vicious pursuit. The play is written by Jeremy Simmons, and all of the places and names are researched and informed by real places and names. With Matt Cowley’s expert sound effects and sound design, it promises to keep you on the edge of your seat, while you experience that time in American history. Studio@620 Artistic Director Bob Devin Jones will play the main character.
